The film revolves around Shaaban (Adel Emam), a poor employee who wishes to marry Esaad Younes but cannot afford to buy her an apartment. He seeks help from his distant relative, Al-Ghatrifi Bek (Emad Hamdy), asking for a loan of one thousand pounds to purchase an apartment for his marriage. However, Al-Ghatrifi Bek rejects him and soon passes away. Shaaban’s relatives then decide to seize Al-Ghatrifi’s fortune, but the law does not permit them to do so. They persuade Shaaban to impersonate Farid Al-Ghatrifi, the son of the deceased Al-Ghatrifi Bek, in order to inherit half of the wealth. The plot unfolds from there.
